Moore Heading Off For Hayes.

Hampton look certain to face their first Premiership season without proven goalscorer Barry Moore.

The popular 21-year-old who spearheaded their promotion drive will join Conference side Hayes once a compensation fee has been agreed.

"We don't want to lose Barry, but he now wants to try his luck at a higher level and we will watch his progress with a tremendous amount of interest," said Beavers' spokesman Les Rance.

If Moore goes, as expected, he will be the second player to progress to a higher level of football from Hampton's Soccer Academy in just two seasons, following in the footsteps of Derek Bryan who signed for Brentford last season.

Incidentally Hampton fans will be keen to see if Bryan is playing for Brentford in a friendly at Hampton this Friday.

Hampton will be taking on Kingstonian for the Saft-Nife Trophy on Tuesday August 4.

Saft-Nife, Hampton's sponsor for the past few years is closing down its premises and relocating back to France. The company has, however, agreed to stage a special last Saft-Nife Trophy against Geoff Chapple's Kingstonian.

The match will take place at Beveree on Tuesday, August 4, with a 7.30pm kick off. It gives an opportunity for Hampton, freshly promoted to the Ryman League Premier Division, to take on last season's Premier Division Champions.

Hampton's search for a new sponsor to replace Saft-Nife should be resolved today at half time during the Brentford friendly. It is still not too late to get your entry in: just contact Chas Milner on 0181 977 4939.
