Up to 20 jobs are being created by a new care provider moving into Witney.

DoCare has opened an office at the new Witney Business and Innovation Centre at the Windrush Industrial Park and is looking to recruit on the back of a new contract from Oxfordshire County Council.

The business will provide care at home for clients Witney, Eynsham, Faringdon, Burford and Carterton referred by Oxfordshire social services from January onwards.

Managing director Steve Mills said: “We are currently recruiting a team of dedicated, experienced homecare workers and will be launching our new homecare service for older people in the Witney area in the New Year.

“We will build the branch up steadily, ensuring the high quality ethos we have developed in our existing teams is transferred to the new team in Witney.”

The company is looking for a mix of support care staff, team leaders and an area manager. Experienced staff are required but full training is available.

Initially, DoCare will recruit six support workers and the Witney team will be run by an existing area manager.

Mr Mills added: “In time, we hope to build our new team to around 20, offering support to a large client base, with a mix of both private clients and those referred by social services.

“We’re looking forward to developing relationships with local GP practices, social workers and other health professionals who also support older people in their own homes.”

DoCare, based in Stroud, started in 2004 and now employs 100 staff with six offices in South Gloucestershire.
