PRIME Minister and Witney MP David Cameron met apprentices when he officially opened a heating and plumbing training centre in the town.
Mr Cameron did the honours at the Oxford Energy Academy’s apprentice training centre in Avenue Two, off Station Lane, during a constituency visit last month.
He was shown gas rate tests and combustion analysis that some of the apprentices were working on and he also toured the gas, plumbing and renewable energy workshop, before talking to staff and trainees.
Mr Cameron said: “Apprenticeships can play a big part, not just in tackling unemployment, but also in making sure our economic recovery is for all.
“That is why centres like this one set up by the Oxford Energy Academy are so important.”
