TWO brothers have hit the ground running with their new business venture.

James and Ben May’s firm Jump Nutrition, which started out of Said Business School’s Launchpad, has developed a recovery drink for runners.

They came up with the formula for ‘Run’, after working for 12 months researching the idea with scientists at Cambridge University.

Designed to replenish energy levels and lost electrolytes after running, it also claims to repair muscle tissue, boost immune function and maintain healthy joints.

It is available in three flavours blueberry, blackcurrant and apple.

The duo turned to crowdfunding website indiegogo.com to raise the £5,000 needed for their first production run. The campaign, which includes pre-ordering, netted 60 per cent of the funding goal in its first six days and has reached £3,500 with two weeks to go.

They hope to begin production next month.

James, 23, who studied engineering at Oxford University, said “We are both runners and have engaged in different sports, so we understand recovery is important.

“But we discovered the products out there are all generic sports drinks and as consumers, never had much idea what was right for us, so ended up getting products that were not good.

“So, we thought we would make it super transparent and specific to running.”
