Solicitors acting for vulnerable clients who face mental capacity issues are invited to attend a training day on Trusts and Deputyships which is being run by Oxford law firm Withy King.

The keynote speaker is senior judge at the Court of Protection, Denzil Lush, who will discuss the latest developments in mental health law and share his experiences of the complexities of family interactions, including the roles of professionals and family members in dealing with vulnerable children and adults. He will be joined by other experts who will cover a range of topics likely to affect the affairs of clients of personal injury, clinical negligence and private client solicitors.

They include working effectively with deputies and trustees; the overlooked role of trusts in damages awards; overcoming limited budgets; innovative home and lifestyle adaptations; case management and ‘safe care packages’; quality of life and the role of therapy.
