Northway Pharmacy celebrated the opening of its new premises with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Cicely Gale, daughter of the original owner and mother of the current pharmacist.
The event was attended by Marston residents and staff from the local medical centre, who were treated to a celebration cake and champagne.
The independent pharmacy, now at at 2 Cherwell Drive, is part of a chain which was originally founded in 1925 by John Frost, the grandfather of current owner Stuart Gale.
Mr Gale said: “We are really excited to be in our new home and we’re really grateful for all the local support we have received since we moved from our former premises at 53 Westlands Drive.”
As well as traditional services, Northway Pharmacy provides specialist NHS services including blood pressure monitoring, family planning and smoking cessation as well as prescription collection and delivery.
The new premises have a consultation room, which is available without an appointment and where advice can be given or medication reviewed.
Mr Gale said: “Our goal at Northway Pharmacy hasn’t changed since my grandfather was at the helm. To this day we continue to strive to demonstrate our commitment to earning ourselves a place at the heart of our community through our personal and caring approach.”
