Sir – May I please draw attention to the petition being organised by Neal’s Yard Remedies to lobby Caroline Spelman, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to stop the use of neo-nicotinoid pesticides, which are thought to be adversely affecting our bees?
These seed treatments and sprays (7,000 times more toxic than DDT) have already been banned by some other countries.
Neal’s Yard Remedies at 56 High Street, Oxford, (open on Sundays, too) has petition forms on paper to sign, and the petition can also be signed online at nealsyardremedies.com/bee-lovely-petition The petition will close on October 31, 2012.
