Design is a second nature

Traditional English country is the style of a Woodstock garden designed by a triple Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal winner.

The landscaped grounds of the Grade-II listed town house in Oxford Street feature a central pathway, seating areas, borders, zoned night-time lighting and an automatic programmable irrigation system.

There is also a water feature and slate vase designed by sculptor Joe Smith, which agents say is available by separate negotiation.

Garden designer Jacquie Gordon (pictured) is a Royal Horticultural Society judge and former consultant designer to Hertford College, Oxford where she still oversees the gardens.

The four-bedroom house is ranged over three floors and includes four reception rooms and a cellar that was once linked by a passageway to the property next door.

Built from Cotswold stone, it is believed to date back to the 17th century and has many period features including high ceilings, sash windows, fireplaces, window seats and a panelled reception hall.

Other highlights include a Smallbone kitchen plus a dressing room and ensuite bathroom to the master bedroom.

Number 24, Oxford Street is on the market for £1.45m. For more information, contact agents Savills on 01865 339700 or visit savills.com
