Drank too much over Christmas just like last year? Spent too much (again)? Giving up drinking as your New Year’s resolution? Cheer up – it might never happen! There’s always time for a soothing glass of wine. But not expensive wine – we do understand that you’ve spent too much.
Why? Because so have we (again!) and we’re on a budget. So here’s a case of good value wines that won’t break the bank to help you on your way.
The New Year's resolution mixed case is priced at £64, normal price £75.60. It includes three bottles of each of the following four wines:
Il Meridione Catarrato 2011, Italy
This wine has floral aromas with hints of almond and a tropical fruit and peachy finish. It’s soft and gentle and a great wine to match with food.
Vinazza gPG Garganega/Pinot Grigio 2011, Italy
Pale straw yellow in colour, this is a lightly aromatic dry Pinot Grigio style with ripe citrus and baked apple characters. It’s fresh, crisp and easy to drink, with soft, lightly honeyed fruit.
Centelleo Tempranillo 2011, Spain
This modern Tempranillo is full of juicy bramble and cherry fruit with hints of spice. Deliciously supple and succulent, it’s ultra clean and fruity.
Dudley’s Stone Cabernet/Merlot 2011, South Africa
A very good South African red with lovely deep flavours combining fruity intense flavours with soft subtle and spicy notes. Smooth tannins with a long finish - softly flavoursome and a great pairing with lamb dishes.
