This month’s case contains some of the classic grape varieties that really shine when handled well by good winemakers using modern equipment.
These rich ripe wines go very well with a wide variety of food and can also be enjoyed equally well on their own because of their smooth velvety texture.
The case is priced at £68 (normal price £80.25) and includes three bottles of each of the following four wines:
Nero d’Avola Il Meridione 2011, Italy
With notes of red cherry and currant, this wine is soft and succulent with good smooth textured rich fruit – great with rich pasta dishes or casseroles.
Hutton Ridge Shiraz Cinsault 2012, South Africa
Ripe juicy berry fruit with touches of spice and smoke from the Syrah and a smooth finish - perfect with grilled foods.
Borsao Garnacha 2012, Spain
Always a popular wine because of its deep rich spicy fruit, the Garnacha grape variety gives this wine a very soft but ultra fruity style that never fails to satisfy. Good with any red meat dish.
Coorong Estate Shiraz 2012, Australia
Heady aromas of smoky, dark fruit and subtle hints of mint, spicy blackberry and plum flavours - lovely rich wine.
