A special visit from this American choir as part of a summer school for conductors organised by composer and Magdalen College graduate James Whitbourn. Features choral music from America and Europe, including the UK premiere of Thomas LaVoy’s Alleluia, under the direction of James Jordan. A rare opportunity to become acquainted with a choir that is famous in its own country but little-known in the UK.

In a departure from their usual repertoire, the Headington Singers have fun with choir and brass music from the Americas, from the Andes to New York. Featuring shanties and spirituals, including songs from Bernstein’s West Side Story. Also the premiere of Invisible Atoms in the Air: Tongues of Fire, written by choir member Ben Mowat and based on two Spanish poems. With conductor Sally Mears.

New Witney-based music and drama company Parabola Theatre presents little-known musical theatre gems, in aid of Christian charity Open Doors. Soloists include West End star Katy Treharne (Christine in The Phantom of the Opera) as well as Parabola Theatre artistic director David Staines, Opera Anywhere founders Mike and Vanessa Woodward, and a choir of experienced and talented new singers.
