One of our finest gypsy jazz guitarists, Remi Harris brings his fluid style to this cosy venue. The 26-year-old hails from Herefordshire but channels Romany passion with blues, rock and bebop influences. He has gone down a storm at European festivals. “I’m really looking forward to returning to Oxfordshire,” he tells us. “It’s always a pleasure to play intimate gigs; you get a great rapport with the audience.”

The Belfast punks have been doing their bombastic thing since 1977 and, along with The Stranglers (see main interview) are among the only real survivors of that scene. Initially writing of life during The Troubles, they have moved on to economic collapse, racism and psychological issues.
