Danny and The Champions are something of an Oxford institution – despite not actually coming from here.

The country-rock and Americana band are familiar visitors to the county and have featured local artists in their line-up.

On Saturday they return to promote wonderful new album What Kind of Love.

Their fifth album sees frontman Danny Wilson exploring his amorous side. “Every song on the album is a love song of some fashion,” he says. “These are love songs about friends, ex-friends, wives... all different kinds of love.”
