Snap on the shades and take a nostalgic journey through the life and work of the The Big O – Roy Orbison. Tribute artist Barry Steele is uncanny as the great man, and takes audiences on a musical and semi-autobiographical celebration of Orbison’s legacy, from the early Sun years right through to the late 80s. The show also pays homage to the time Roy spent with the Traveling Wilburys.

Independent Venue Week is a fantastic venture aimed at promoting the importance of our individually-owned, non-corporate gig-spaces. We are relatively blessed with some gems in Oxford, including the city’s only real family-owned dedicated space, The Cellar. On Thursday it hosts a night celebrating the week, featuring a trio of up-and-coming, but very different acts: singer-songwriter Rosie Caldicot, indie-rockers Cassels and electronica outfit Maiians.

A night of pure rock shenanigans at The Haven Club on Thursday, courtesy of a band that impressed Slash from Guns n’ Roses so much that he asked them to support him on tour in Europe and America. They went on to support Deep Purple, but are now out and about under their own steam. Expect scorching guitars, catchy hooks and a towering stage presence.
