Comedy legend George Carlin, who died in 2008, recorded a special in 2001 which is now due for vinyl release.

The album, I Kinda Like It When A Lotta People Die, was considered too dark for release at the time.

To demonstrate, this line is one taken from the recording: “Another nice thing about tornadoes. No-one can find their cat.”

Carlin decided to re-edit and change much of the material, which he eventually released as his 12th special Complaints & Grievances.

Fifteen years after its debut, MPI Media Group will release the unedited special for the first time.

I Kinda Like It will be available on September 16 digitally, on CD and in a limited edition vinyl release.

In addition to the unreleased material, I Kinda Like It also includes rare material by a very young Carlin from 1957 and interviews with the comedian’s manager Jerry Hamza and Rocco Urbisci, who directed 10 of Carlin’s 14 HBO specials.
