Jane McDonald has been showing off her incredible weight loss, which is all thanks to a sugar-free diet.
The former cruise ship singer appeared on ITV’s Lorraine this morning to say she feels better than ever at 53 – and it’s all down to cutting out the sweet stuff since a stint on reality TV show Sugar Free Farm.
She took part in the ITV programme back in January, as one of six celebrities tasked with cutting sugar out of their diets. Since then she has managed to stick with the new healthy eating regime.
Other celebrities who took part included James “Arg” Argent, Rory McGrath, Jennifer Ellison, Tupele Dorgu, and Mark Labbett, aka the Beast from quiz show The Chase.
As Lorraine host Gaby Roslin complimented her on her new, trim look, Jane told her: “I’ve been like this for a year now. I went on Sugar Free Farm for ITV.
“I didn’t think I was overweight when I went in there but I changed my diet and I just feel so much better. I’ve got a lot more energy, I look different and I feel fantastic – and that’s just by cutting out sugar from my diet.”
Jane is about to set out on a UK tour, called Making Memories, and said the positive changes she’d made would help her to prepare for the hard work ahead.
She explained: “I have more energy, which I need for the tour!”
