Britney Spears is in the midst of a strong career surge thanks to the release of her ninth album Glory, her Las Vegas residency and a string of other performances.

And the pop princess has now spoken candidly about moving on from a more difficult time in her life in her younger years, lightly hinting at the time in 2007 when she was seen shaving her head before going into rehab.

This followed her ex-husband Kevin Federline being granted custody of their two sons follow several high-profile incidents of erratic behaviour on her part.

Now, at age 34, Britney has said she’s feeling better than ever after going through her “horrible” twenties.

During an interview on ITV’s Lorraine, she said: “I like my thirties way more than my twenties. twenties were horrible.

“[Being] In my teens was fun, but I like thirties, thirties is great. You know who you really are.”

The pop icon was also happy to talk about her sons Sean Preston, 11 and Jayden James, 10, but confessed she is scared now they are getting older.

She said: “It’s a little strange because I’m nervous, because I know 12 and 13 and 14 and 15, is going to be really scary and I’m going to be like, ‘mum, please come to the house and help me out here’.

“But right now it’s a great age, they’re still babies.”

Earlier this week, Britney wowed London as she took to the stage at Camden’s Roundhouse for the Apple Music Festival, and she has been openly enjoying her time in the British capital, posting extensively on social media.

Her happy mood is palpable, and it’s no wonder as she said during the TV chat: “I’m in a really good place right now so I think, I’m just, I’m loving and learning myself every day and learning who I am so it’s just, it’s awakening, it’s cool.”

She added: “I love London, it’s so beautiful. When I landed here, we went through Kensington Park and I was just like, ‘oh my god’, everyone was running and so many people are out, it’s really great so I’ll definitely be back.”
