Gemma Collins’ famous fall through the floor during the Radio 1 Teen Awards has been named “best celebrity fall of the year”.

The comical Lemon Award was bestowed on the The Only Way Is Essex star during the Christmas edition of Leigh Francis’ ITV 2 comedy game show Celebrity Juice.

Collins made headlines following the awkward moment that saw her fall prey to an open trapdoor as she presented an award to ITV’s hit reality series Love Island. She later joked that the gaffe left her feeling like Bridget Jones.

In a light-hearted impersonation of the star, Francis accepted the award, repeating “I can’t believe it,” before pretending to fall through a hole.

Viewers were delighted with the quip, with one commenting on Twitter: “Impression of Gemma Collins was superb. #CelebJuice.”

“I am in tears of laughter @CelebJuice,” added another.

Collins, who was not present on Thursday night’s show, was also awarded another prize for the shoulder-padded orange dress she wore to this year’s ITV Summer Party.

This year’s Great British Bake Off was also honoured, with new presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding named best double act and Prue Leith narrowly avoiding a Lemon Award for accidentally revealing the series winner ahead of the final.

The rip-roaring festive special saw a panel of guests brave a string of awkward challenges while dressed up as film and pantomime characters.

While Francis’ alter ego Keith Lemon dressed as Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter from Alice In Wonderland, Fearne Cotton paid homage to Helena Bonham Carter’s Queen Of Hearts.

Former Blur bassist Alex James joked that there would never be a band reunion after he appeared on the show as a theatrical pantomime dame, next to Holly Willoughby’s Little Red Riding Hood and Stacey Solomon’s Princess Jasmine.

TV chef Gino D’Acampo was dressed in full Puss In Boots garb while Denise Van Outen and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson portrayed stage royalty.

But it was an awkward moment for presenter John Barrowman, whose trousers split before the camera while playing the Wibbly Wobbly Word Game.

“Celebrity Juice tonight is hilarious. Omg, nearly choked with laughter,” commented one viewer, while another wrote: “My sides are sore best laugh of 2017 #Celebjuice #TrouserSplit.”

Another added: “My sides are aching and I’m crying with laughter. Too funny tonight love it x”

Barrowman bravely continued with the show without replacement trousers.
