Debbie McGee has said she wants to capitalise on her Strictly Come Dancing success.

The radio presenter, 59, will take to the dance floor with hopes of winning the competition in Saturday night’s grand final alongside professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice.

The wife of the late magician Paul Daniels has regularly topped the leaderboard during the show’s 15th series and has been dubbed “flexi McGee” by viewers because of her impressive flexibility.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Saturday night, McGee revealed she had been approached to release a yoga DVD since appearing on the show.

“I just want to make the most of every opportunity,” she said.

“I’ve been so lucky to be on Strictly.

“It opens doors and I just want to make the most of that because that’s what being in our business is about.

“There’s lots of things sort of bubbling and I haven’t decided on anything yet but after Christmas I’m going to look with my agent over everything that has come in and that (the yoga DVD) is certainly something I’m going to consider.”

Pernice told reporters he would be the “first person to buy it”.

McGee said inspiring older women across the country with her impressive performances was a “fantastic” feeling which left her proud.

She added the only downside of it was that “the whole country knows how old I am”.

Saturday’s final will see her take on actors Gemma Atkinson, Joe McFadden and singer Alexandra Burke following 13 weeks of competition.

McGee also opened up about her response to negative comments from fans, revealing she simply dismisses any feedback that is not constructive.

“The negative side of it is not even 1% so everything else is so positive and happy that really it doesn’t effect you much,” she said.

“I always listen to everything… and if it’s constructive I will take it on board but if it’s anything that is just negative for the sake of criticising, I’ve always just completely shut it out of my mind.

“And that’s the way I’ve dealt with all the negative publicity or tweets and social media on Strictly.

“Is it constructive? Can I use that? And if it’s not then it’s not worth wasting a minute to think about,” she added.

McGee and Pernice will perform three times in the final including salsa to Boys Town Gang’s Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and a showdance to One Day I’ll Fly Away by Vaults.
