MUD MORGANFIELD

Arts Centre, Newbury

Saturday, July 20 at 8pm

Box office: 01635 244246 or www.arlingtonarts.co.uk

Eldest son of blues legend Muddy Waters, Mud comes with perhaps the finest pedigree in popular music. The proud heir of the King of Chicago blues is blessed with a powerful voice that can convey deep emotional resonance on the slow numbers and good old fashioned testoster-one-laden strut on those classic shuffles. He’s also blessed with a natural sense of showmanship that ensures audiences fall into the palm of his hand. Touring the UK with British blues talents of West Weston on harp, Ronni Buysack-Boysen on guitar, Ian Jennings on double bass, Eric Ranzoni on the keys and Mike Hellier on drums, it is set to be an explosive deliverance of electric blues.

Monty has been passionate about the oceans and wildlife for as long as he can remember. Marine Biologist, professional diver, explorer, teller of tall tales from remote regions in both the UK and around the world, he has written seven books, presented programmes for the BBC, ITV, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel, yet remains quietly convinced that people only ever tune in to see Reuben the dog. Here he tells the story of the filming of the Great Escapes series on the west coast of Scotland and in Ireland.
