The Royal Air Force Theatrical Association was formed in 1974 with the intention of “improving theatre in the RAF” and have produced dramas and musicals on the professional stage ever since. Now returning to Oxford, Much Ado is set in the 1920s where Beatrice represents the new freedoms enjoyed by women at that time, while Innogen, Leonato’s silent wife, represents the obedient female role, at least in public.
