Bridge party

Hundreds of people are expected to gather today to celebrate the 50th birthday of Donnington Bridge.

Golden anniversary celebrations are due to begin at noon with a 1960s costume party at the Donnington Community Centre in Freelands Road.

At 2pm Lord Mayor Alan Armitage will head a procession of residents to the bridge, with the Larkrise School Samba Band and musicians leading the way.

How are they going to get across the road as the new proposed zebra crossing hasnt been done yet ?
