IT was hot couture as far as fashionistas were concerned at the finale of Oxford’s Fashion Week.
A black-tie haute couture show, complete with red carpet, was staged at the Ashmolean Museum, Beaumont Street, on Saturday.
Models strutted their stuff on the catwalk, wearing a host of creations from up-and-coming and established designers.
Dr Ling Ge, who produced the show, said: “The music, lighting and the majestic Ashmolean Museum played out perfectly with the opulence theme and regal haute drama. It was indeed a hot and haute couture show as commented by our distinguished guests.”
For designer Zoe Smith, 21, of Bicester, it was her first professional show. Four of her dresses made it on to the catwalk.
She said: “It was a really long day. There were lots of preparations, dress fittings for the models, they had to have their hair and make up done, and then dressed to make them look perfect. It was a great night.”
