THE Ace Centre in Nelson will host one of two northern heats to find the next stand-up comedy star.
The Laughing Horse New Acts of the Year is organised by a series of London’s leading comedy clubs and seeks out the best new talent around the country.
The overall winner receives a £3,000 prize and the audiences play a key role in the judging process.
Previous competitors have gone on to become major names on the comedy circuit, including Jack Whitehall, Rhod Gilbert, Russell Kane, Andi Osho, Henning When and Nina Conti.
The northern heats will be held at Bury Met on Wednesday, January 16 and the Ace Centre, Nelson on Thursday, January 17. Details from 01282 661080.
