Starlight Express musical director meets young performers in Witney

YOUNG singers and dancers in Witney had stars in their eyes when they met the musical director of Starlight Express.
Dave Rose, who grew up in Witney and attended Wood Green School, visited the West Oxfordshire Academy of Performing Arts during the show’s run at the New Theatre in Oxford last month.
More than 140 students of the Saxon Way stage school and their families attended the show’s opening night.
Mr Rose watched the children perform pieces from Starlight Express and answered their questions about the production.
Academy principal Brian Conroy said: “The children learned songs and dances from Starlight Express last term and it was a fantastic opportunity for our students to meet Dave.”
