- 2001: Oxford United moves to the Kassam Stadium from the Manor Ground in Headington
- 2006: Firoz Kassam sells Oxford United to Nick Merry
- April 2007: Mr Kassam offers to rejoin Oxford United’s board and sell the stadium to the club bit by bit but this is turned down by the U’s
- May 2007: Talks take place between Oxford United and Oxford University over a possible partnership deal to buy the stadium
- March 2008: Mr Merry said purchasing the stadium was a priority for Oxford United, now in the Conference, and negotiations were currently taking place
- October 2008: Kelvin Thomas takes over as chairman of Oxford United as the club was said to be days away from administration and stressed the importance of buying it
- 2012: Richmond-based rugby club London Welsh move to the Kassam Stadium
