BICESTER businesses showed off their charitable side at a fashion show.

Organised by the Launton Friends of Cancer Research UK, the show at the village’s Tythe Barn raised £3,000 for the charity.

Shops and businesses loaned hats, suits, ballgowns and wedding dresses so models could strut their stuff.

People also got the chance to bid on a string of auction lots, including a 10-day stay in a luxury villa in Portugal and a helicopter flight.

Chairwoman Pat Mitchell, pictured left, said 85 volunteers helped put on the show. She said: “With the unstinting co-operation of Premier Ballgowns, Options Boutique, Bridal Butterfly Boutique, The Hat Hire Company and Henry’s Men’s outfitters, with wonderful lighting and musical effects from Distinct Solutions, and some theatrical makeup done by Gloss Envy, the show was a resounding success.

“We would like to thank all of those volunteers and businesses so much.”
