A MAN who robbed Bampton Post Office and injured a woman shop worker has been jailed.

Daniel Kisfaludi, of Havelock Road, Luton, was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison at Oxford Crown Court after admitting the raid.

The 29-year-old entered the post office in Bridge Street in Bampton on October 29 last year, hit the postmistress and stole cash and a laptop.

He was pursued by members of the public and arrested nearby shortly after the robbery.

The assault left the postmistress with an injury to her tooth, face and jaw requiring medical attention.

Investigating officer, DC Francesca Griffin said: “We are pleased at this sentence and would like to thank the residents of Bampton for their assistance in the investigation.”
