A helpline set up to help vulnerable people keep warm is ready for a rise in calls over the next few days.
The Affordable Warmth Helpline, part of Oxfordshire’s Warm Homes Healthy People initiative, gives advice on coping during cold weather.
Staffed by experts in benefits, grants and energy efficiency, the helpline opened on November 21 and had received 82 calls by December 31.
Project manager Dale Hoyland said: “The number of calls that we have received shows there are people in the county who really worry about managing their fuel bills.”
To call the helpline, dial 0800 107 0044.
