Day four Bullfinch: Girl "forced to have sex with fat and ugly man"

A WOMAN told an Old Bailey jury this morning she was forced to have sex with a "fat and ugly" man when she was 14.

She was speaking as the first witness in the trial of nine men accused of running a child sex and prostitution ring in Oxford.

The woman, known as Girl 2, is now in her 20s. She said she was threatened with guns by brothers Akhtar and Anjum "Jammy" Dogar after the pair were initially "nice" to her.

She said her and Girl 1 would run away from their children's home and spend "a week to two weeks" at a time drinking and taking drugs with four Asian men in the Cowley Road area.

The woman claims she was raped and sold for sex by the Dogar brothers and Kamar Jamil between July and September 2006, when she was 14. They deny the charges.

She said she was once taken to an East Oxford flat where "Jammy" told her to go into a bedroom with a man in his late 30s.

She said: "I knew he was there to have sex with me."

When asked what he looked like, she said: "Fat and ugly."

And she said "Jammy" got angry and grabbed her when she refused, adding: "He said I was wasting that guy's time."

When in the bedroom she said the man took off her trousers and repeatedly pushed her back on to the bed when she tried to get away.

She said: "I was struggling for a while but I just gave up."

The woman said her and her friend would dress up to come to the city as if they were "going clubbing". They would wear short skirts and low tops with their cleavages showing, the jury heard.

The woman also said she had sex with Jamil once because she had "no choice".

She said she and Girl 1 were once driven to a "dark and quiet" area where they were given vodka and Red Bull to drink.

The witness said Girl 1 had sex with Jamil, now 27, in the back seat before he told her have sex with him.

She told the court she had sex with him as she was scared. He also made her perform a sex act on him, she said.

She said: "I didn't have a choice. I felt like I couldn't say no to him."

The trial is expected to last up to 12 weeks.

The accused all deny the charges. They are:
- Kamar Jamil, 27, of Aldrich Road, Summertown, Oxford, denies four rapes, three charges of conspiracy to rape, two of arranging or facilitating child prostitution, and one of trafficking for sexual exploitation.
- Akhtar Dogar, 32, of Tawney Street, East Oxford, denies six rapes, three charges of conspiracy to rape, three of arranging or facilitating child prostitution, and trafficking for sexual exploitation.
- Anjum Dogar, 30, of Tawney Street, East Oxford, denies four rapes, three charges of conspiracy to rape, three of arranging or facilitating child prostitution, and trafficking for sexual exploitation.
- Assad Hussain, 32, of Ashhurst Way, Rose Hill, Oxford, denies two charges of conspiracy to rape and three of sexual activity with a child.
- Mohammed Karrar, 38, of Kames Close, Cowley, Oxford, denies seven rapes, four charges of conspiracy to rape, an alternative charge of conspiracy to commit sexual activity with a child, two of trafficking for sexual exploitation, two of arranging or facilitating child prostitution, assault, conspiracy to assault, using an instrument to procure a miscarriage, and supplying a Class A drug to another.
- Bassam Karrar, 33, of Hundred Acres Close, Cowley, Oxford, denies three rapes, three charges of conspiracy to rape, two charges of arranging or facilitating child prostitution, trafficking for sexual exploitation, and conspiracy to assault.
- Mohammed Hussain, 24, of Horspath Road, Cowley, Oxford, denies rape, conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child, and two charges of sexual activity with a child.
- Zeeshan Ahmed, 27, of Palmer Road, Wood Farm, Oxford, denies two charges of conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child and two charges of sexual activity with a child.
- Bilal Ahmed, 26, of Suffolk Road, Maidenhead, denies conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child and sexual activity with a child.
