A THAMES Valley Police officer will face court today over claims she broke data protection laws.

Sugra Hanif, a constable from Bretch Hill, Banbury, was charged with obtaining or disclosing personal data which contravenes data protection laws and conspiracy to misconduct in a public office.

The 26-year-old is alleged to have sold personal information to two other people – 26-year-old Raza Khan, of Ivy Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, and 25-year-old Paramjeet Kaur, also of Ivy Road, Handsworth, Birmingham.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between January 1 and September 30, 2011.

The trio will appear at Aldershot Magistrates’ court today.
