AN ‘inmate’ of a former Oxford prison is set to reveal all about his daring escape attempt during February half-term.

The acting ‘prisoners’ taking part in an interactive event for children, Oxford Castle – Unlocked, will be sharing their stories as they play out the jailbirds’ lives inside.

The 1,000-year-old castle was previously used as a place of incarceration for more than 800 years.

Visitors will get the chance to turn detective and hunt down some of the castle prison’s most prolific Victorian offenders during an interactive trail.

One of the prisoners is D-100, better known as Tom Wilson, pictured.

Mr Wilson said: “My character is a professional at escaping the castle.

“I’m looking forward to February half- term when I’ll be putting my skills at escaping into action.

“But I’m not looking forward to the children chasing me or the telling off I’ll get from the prison warder.”

D-100 is like all Victorian prisoners, who would have been given a number and then only referred to by that number.

The stories will be shared during February half-term, from Saturday, February 9, to Sunday, February 17.
