BANBURY United chairman Jed McCrory may have to relinquish control of the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division club if a consortium he is heading completes its takeover of npower League One outfit Swindon Town.

The Oxford Mail understands McCrory is likely to be allowed to hold board positions at both Banbury and Swindon until the end of the season, with special dispensation granted which will allow him to have a significant role at both clubs, provided they will not meet in FA competitions.

However, at the end of the season McCrory is likely to be told he must step down from one of the positions.

McCrory took over as Banbury chairman six months ago.
