A FOOTBALLER was left with facial injuries after an altercation on a pitch at Tilsley Park in Abingdon.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident and has been bailed until March 23.
Police were called to the incident on a football field at the Dunmore Road sports centre just after 9pm on Wednesday.
A spokesman said the victim sustained facial injuries but no ambulance was called.
The incident is understood to have happened during a football match in Tilsley Park’s five-a-side football pitches.
A witness, who did not want to be named, said: “We were warming up and the next thing I saw a guy with blood on his face.
“I saw blood and wonky teeth. It was pretty grim.”
