TWO caravans were seized by police who raided the Redbridge Hollow travellers’ site yesterday. A total of 19 officers were sent to the site in Old Abingdon Road, Kennington, at 10.15am to remove the caravans.

No arrests were made.

Insp Nicholas Cain said: “We carried out a proactive operation this morning on the Redbridge Hollow site.

“In the course of our inquiries we have seized two caravans suspected to be stolen and inquiries are ongoing.

“I would like to reassure residents our priority is to make sure that the area remains a safe place to be and we will continue to crack down on the small minority who choose to commit crime.”

Police also visited the site on January 10 and found two caravans which were suspected to be stolen.

Was one of them periwinkle blue?

No arrests?
Are the PCs afraid of being accused of racialisticness?
Or is that there are such things as Police Traveller Liason Officers? They are on terrific money and can't go around just arresting the people they've paid to liaise with...can they?

Five years ago Plod wouldn't go anywhere near RBH. But we must congratulate Plod now for being non-discriminatory. They will nick anybody.
