VOTERS in a part of Oxford which was missed off an election map have been reassured they will still get a vote.
Green councillors raised concerns that residents of the Donnington estate may have been missed off the electoral register.
David Williams, Green councillor for Iffley Fields ward, noticed that all the voters from Addison Crescent, Swinburne Road and parts of Arnold Road, Meadow Lane and Donnington Bridge Road were not included on a map of the division for the county council elections produced by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.
But the city council’s head of law and governance Jeremy Thomas said: “What Councillor Williams spotted was a discrepancy between the wording of the order which created new electoral divisions for the forthcoming county council elections and the map which accompanied it. That was a Parliamentary drafting error.
“All councils in Oxfordshire had to redraw their polling districts in any event to reflect the new county divisions and we will be publishing our new register on February 8.”
A new map will now be produced by the city council.
