PO knife raider may avoid jail

A MAN who admitted holding up a post office at knifepoint will be sentenced later this month.

Daniel Tuckey, 33, threatened a 70-year-old female member of staff at Littlemore Post Office on June 26 last year before making off empty-handed.

Tuckey, of Hollow Way, Cowley, appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday after admitting attempted robbery and was remanded in custody.

His sentencing was put back to February 27 so a pre-sentence report could be prepared.

Judge Gordon Risius said Tuckey suffered from a mixed personality disorder and he was considering alternatives to prison.
