BULLFINCH: Girl, 13, 'had sex in return for cocaine'

A 13-YEAR-OLD girl would have sex for crack cocaine while at the hands of a child exploitation gang, the Old Bailey heard yesterday.

Now aged 20, the witness – known as Girl 3 as she cannot be named – told the jury she was taken across Oxford to have sex and perform sex acts.

She claims she was abused by Akhtar and Anjum Dogar, Assad Hussain, and Mohammed and Bassam Karrar between the ages of 13 and 15.

The alleged crimes, including rape, child prostitution, and sex trafficking, are said to have taken place between July 2005 and July 2008.

The girl said Mohammed Karrar would take her to homes in Riverside Court, Friars Wharf and Wood Farm, for “parties”.

She said: “I knew what was expected of me.

“All I was thinking about was drugs and how I was going to get them because they made me feel good.”

The girl, who moved to Oxford when she was adopted aged 11, met Karrar when she was 12.

She said he initially treated her “nicely” and “respectfully”.

And she broke down as she described how Karrar made her feel “grown up”.

She said she felt special, loved, and “wanted more than anything else”.

She said her first sexual experience with him was about five weeks after her 13th birthday. She said by then she was drinking and taking cocaine and cannabis with him.

She said: “He was protecting me but he was also the boss of me. One time he said you will do what I say because you are mine.”

Karrar also video-recorded her having sex with men, the court heard.

The woman said once she was made to go into a bedroom with a man known as “Polish”.

She said he winked and said: “You know what you have to do now?”

She then performed a sex act before having sex with him.

Prosecutor Noel Lucas asked her why she kept returning to Karrar.

She said: “Loyalty, drugs, affection in a strange way. It was an addiction.”

She said she felt “numb” afterwards.

The girl saw money, drugs and condoms changing hands, the court heard.

Girl 3 said she was frequently taken to a Riverside Court flat where a man called “Mark” lived.

She said: “He knew men were coming to see me in his house and was allowing it to happen.” The witness picked Karrar out in an ID parade last year, the jury heard.

A social worker told the court earlier that two young, teenage girls at the children’s home where she worked would run away frequently.

Unnamed witnesses known as Girl 1 and 2, who have already testified, stayed at the home in 2006.

The social worker said: “At one point it felt like they were out of the house more often than in it.”

The woman said staff knew the girls were using drink and drugs, adding: “We were also aware they were with older men.”
