Pigeon flocks back to bakers

A PIGEON has again caused the closure of a Headington bakers.

Greggs, in London Road, was forced to shut after a pigeon flew into the store at about 1.30pm on Wednesday.

The unwelcome visitor has flown in on a number of occasions and caused numerous closures.

Spokesman for Greggs Peter Woodall said: “When a pigeon does get loose they tend to panic a little bit.

“Staff followed the company policy. They closed, cleaned down all the surfaces and made sure nothing was affected.”

The store had reopened by 3pm.

So a new chapter in this fascinating story - can see it getting into a future storyline of Lewis - just wonder who is going to the press? Greggs, a member of the public, the cub reporter who happened to be in the vicinity while all the bank jobs are going on, or the pigeon, seeking to make seed money from their exploits.

I think they probably get it from my Twitter feed @HeadingtonNews: nothing knowingly overlooked.
