PRIME Minister and Witney MP David Cameron has backed a parachute jump to raise cash for a new school minibus.
A group of six parents and staff hopes to raise £5,000 for Springfield School in Witney by making the tandem jump on Saturday, March 2.
Mr Cameron said: “Like many people in West Oxfordshire, I feel a strong and longstanding connection with this very special school, and so it is wonderful to see teachers and parents working together to support it.”
The group includes assistant headteacher Tim Walker, teacher Kate Bristow, teaching assistant Siobhan Bowl and volunteer Millie Larney.
Mr Walker said: “Springfield School desperately needs a new minibus with wheelchair accessibility. We currently only have one minibus with this facility, and 18 pupils who are permanently wheelchair bound.”
Springfield School helps children between the age of three and 16 with physical and learning disabilities.
