Dog is rescued from Thames
7:22pm Sunday 10th February 2013 in News
A dog was saved by firefighters from the River Thames in Abingdon.
The dog managed to scramble on to a fallen tree at Abingdon Bridge after going into the river on Friday at 1pm.
Abingdon firefighters launched a rescue boat and managed to get hold of the animal.
Firefighter Simon Matthews urged people not to try to rescue dogs.
He said: “Emergency services have the training and the equipment to be able to complete the rescue safely.”
