WOODSTOCK Primary School welcomed some special visitors to celebrate achieving Eco-Schools status.
The Duke and Duchess of Marlborough dropped in to help raise the prestigious Green Flag to mark the achievement.
Eco-Schools is an international programme of environmental education for schools.
The school was given the award in October last year and to celebrate the accolade invited friends and supporters to the event. The ceremony was also attended by the town’s mayor, Brian Yoxall.
The school encourages children to walk to classes using a walking bus and has been involved in energy-saving campaigns.
Headteacher Lisa Rowe said: “I’m hugely proud of everyone’s hard work in making this possible. The fact that the Duke honoured us with his prescence made it extra special for us all.
“We also grow a lot of our own fruit and veg on an allotment and use them for cooking lessons.”
