Chipping Norton: No arrest after mosque threat

CHIPPING NORTON: No one has yet been arrested for a threatening phone call that led to a planned mosque being stopped.

The town’s small muslim community had won permission to open the mosque in a former shop in Hitchmans Mews.

But following the decision landlord Georg Wissinter, 79, received a call saying the mosque would get “very hot” if it went ahead.

He pulled out of the scheme on Friday.

What's Anthony Stansfeld, Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner, had to say about this? Nothing so far it seems. He's happily putting up the police element of the Council Tax though.

Why don't the police make a statement about this threat to a section of our society who have every right to build this mosque even if it's not to everyones liking,,i'm sure if a threat was made to a local bigwig it would be looked into with a different attitude. Get your act together Anthony Stansfeld, Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner, and trat everyone equally or am i just a wishful thinker ?
