FORMER boxer Chris Eubank came to Oxford yesterday to give a knockout performance at the university’s historic debating society.

He had been invited to talk to students at the Oxford Union, following in the footsteps of Winston Churchill, the Dalai Lama and Michael Jackson. Speaking to the Oxford Mail before his talk, Mr Eubank said: “It is great to have been invited to the Oxford Union.

“Today I will be talking about the truth. Just the truth.”

Mr Eubank, 46, was undefeated as a middleweight boxer and was world champion for more than five years.

He has since become known for his eccentric fashion sense, but yesterday his trademark monocle was missing.
