TURNER Prize-winning artist Simon Starling will be debuting his film about the transit of Venus at Oxford’s Radcliffe Observatory.
The film, commissioned by Modern Art Oxford as part of its series of off-site artwork, is a response to the rare planetary phenomenon of the transit of Venus and its relationship to the beginnings of moving image technology.
Modern Art Oxford curator Emily Korchmaros said: “The film is about the different attempts by astronomers through history to document the transit of Venus.”
Starling’s 28-minute film will be shown on Saturday and Sunday. Screenings start at 6pm. For more information visit modernartoxford.org.uk
