AN Oxford man arrested yesterday on suspicion of fundraising for terrorism has been released on bail.
Officers swooped on an address in the city and arrested the 23-year-old suspicion of fundraising for the purposes of terrorism, contrary to Section 15 of The Terrorism Act 2000, and on suspicion of failing to disclose information in order to make a gain, contrary to Section 3 of the Fraud Act 2006.
The man, from Oxford, was questioned by officers from the South East Counter Terrorism Unit at a police station in the Thames Valley Area.
Thames Valley Police said there was no perceived threat to the local community, and the arrest related to the investigation of activity overseas.
A fixed bail date was not given but he is due to report back to police in mid-April.
