Traffic lights still out on Milton interchange

THE traffic lights are still out on the A4130 at the A34 Milton Interchange this morning.

The lights are out on the Didcot side of the roundabout due to a power failure.

They have been out since at least 9 last night so hardly breaking news.

Not only do they fail often, but when the do, the traffic flow is great - they do not need lights here at all.

The way the lights are programmed means you cannot get to the next set of lights whilst on green, meaning 3 sets of acceleration and braking - which is the most environmentally damaging bit of driving.

OCC Traffic Light (Installation) department - remove these lights, and whilst you're at it, lose the ones at Frideswides Sq, and on the Redbridge roundabout by the P&R.

Could we also include the A34/Botley roundabout?
