Wheatley residents warned post could arrive later
7:00pm Saturday 9th March 2013 in News
RESIDENTS in Wheatley are being told their mail could be delivered later than usual due to a change in the way delivery routes are managed.
Fewer letters are now posted every day, but Royal Mail is handling an increasing number of parcels due to online shopping, and will use more delivery vans as a result.
Similar changes took place in Chalgrove in January affecting 1,201 customers. In Wheatley, 2,830 residents will be affected.
Some mail could arrive earlier as a result of the changes.
Royal Mail collection and delivery sector manager Jason Scott said: “The local delivery team and I are fully committed to providing a high quality of service that is as reliable and friendly as customers have come to expect in Wheatley over many years.”
Royal Mail spokesman Mike Norman added: “In due course, these changes to delivery routes will be introduced across Oxfordshire.”
