Teenager goes on trial for rape

A 17-YEAR-OLD youth from Banbury has gone on trial accused of the rape and sexual assault of a child.
The defendant, who a judge has banned from being named, appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday for what is expected to be a week-long trial.
He denies inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, rape, attempted rape and sexual assault on January 21 last year, in relation to one victim.
The teenager also denies four further charges of inciting children to engage in sexual activity relating to four other girls, two under 13 and two under 16, between January 2011 and February last year.
The trial continues.
