Samar Said wasn't scared
YOUNGSTERS came face to face with a terrifying megalosaurus when they discovered Oxfordshire’s dinosaurs this week.
Reception pupils from West Oxford Community Primary School spent a day learning about prehistoric fossils, flora and footprints at Woodstock’s Oxfordshire Museum.
On Tuesday they took part in the attraction’s popular dinosaur workshop and were also treated to jurassic-themed sketching, poems and life-sized models.
They got to see the real-life footprints of a carnivorous megalosaurus found in Ardley Quarry at the Park Street museum.
Samar Said, five, pictured, from Oxford, said: “I wasn’t too scared of the dinosaurs – we had lots of fun at the museum.”
Museum audience development officer Lorraine Horne said: “It is our most popular workshop for schools and the model dinosaurs in the garden and interactive guides are always a favourite.”
Today a Dinosaur and Fossil Fun Day will give visitors the chance to excavate their own dinosaurs in CSI Woodstock and make dinosaur masks and dioramas from 11am to 4pm. Entry is £5.
